I. GENERAL DESCRIPTION.-

 

This compound product is made from the following plants:

Yacon (Smallanthus Sonchifolius)

Pasuchaca (Geranium Dielsianum K.)

Iporuro (Alchornea  Castaneifolia)

Cuty Cuty (Notholaena Nivea)

 

 

II. DESCRIPTION OF THE PLANTS.-

 

• Yacon (Smallanthus Sonchifolius): Plant that grows in the  high jungle and Inter-Andean valleys of Peru. Its cream colored, tuberous roots are edible. They contain an inulin compound, made up mostly of fructose, considered as a natural dietetic sugar, which provides very few calories, ideal in weight loss diets.

   

 

Properties:

• It aids in lowering cholesterol levels,

• Improves calcium assimilation,

• Provides relief to gastrointestinal problems as a laxative,

• Reduces glucose and triglycerides levels in the blood.

 

Active Components:

Proteins, inulin, sugars (fructose, glucose, sacharose), minerals (potasium, Phosphorus, Iron, Zinc, magnesium, sodium, calcium and copper), vitaminis C, thyamine, riboflavin and niacine.

 

• Pasuchaca (Geranium dielsianum K.): Plant from the Peruvian Andes, that grows around 3,500 meters above sea level, in the region of Cajamarca and the Huaylas Valley.

  

Properties:

• It is considered to provide diabetic support;

• It is hypoglycemic,

• Supports pancreas function,

• Helps relieve chronic diarrhea as an astringent.

 

Active Components:

Glycosides (cyano-genetics, anti-cyanics, anthraquinonics and saponinics), mucílagos, tannins, saponines, chlorophyll, fatty acids, wax, resins, flavonoids, carotenoids, sugar reducers.

 

• Iporuro (Alchornea  castaneifolia):  Small tree that is grown in the Peruvian Amazon region. It is small to mid size (up to 9 meters tall); brown bark, and small leaves.

 

Properties:

Provides relief for rheumatic problems,

Relieves rheumatoid arthritis, muscular pains and chronic pains.

It is also utilized as an aphrodisiac in cases of impotence.

 

Active Components:

Auroras, quaternary bases, chalconas, steroids, simple phenols, flavons, flavonols, flavanones, flavononols, saponinee, tannins, pyrogallics and xantones.

 

• Cuty Cuty (Notholaena nivea): Cuty Cuty is a small tree from the Amazon basin. It is small; grows up to 9 meters (30 ft) , its bark is a light brown color. The leaves are small, silvery, with slightly serrated edges.

   

 

Properties:

Regulates blood sugar and glucose levels,

Supports normal function of the  pancreas, aiding normal levels of insulin secretion.
